Our Journey
Spring Rooster is more than just a band; it’s a journey that started in the streets of our hometown. Our playful melodies and heartfelt lyrics have resonated with fans across the globe, bringing people together through the universal language of music.
From our humble beginnings playing at local venues to headlining major music festivals, we’ve always stayed true to our sound and our fans. We believe in the power of music to inspire and connect, and we are grateful for every opportunity to share our art with the world.
Here’s what a few people are saying about our new recording:
Kev from Americana Country says this:
Very nice. Adding to Inspiring Americana now. Thanks and hope to hear more from you!
Rádio Cult FM The song is melodic, catchy, and features a really cool instrumental, with a special mention for the drummer, who adds a heavy touch to the sound. At times, it’s reminiscent of Midnight Oil, but with its own unique identity. We’ll be adding the track to our radio station’s lineup.
From Keep it Rock – British rock blogger:
“A great driving riff from the off. which, was a cool coincidence when it was a song about a trip a road! One thing you couldn’t accuse this of being is boring. A battering ram style beat, solid riffs and THEN, we have a rather groovy keys solo in the middle – what’s not to like? Vocals were consistent, comfortable and played their part well alongside the other players. Bread n butter stuff I’d call this and there ain’t a thing wrong with that. Good song and a catchy, memorable, singable chorus line too. I can imagine this being a real crowd pleaser.”
Take a New Orleans flavoured guitar, a Chili’s bass line and a rhythm reminiscent of John Bonham. Add a Deep Purple Organ in the background and you’ll begin to picture where Spring Rooster comes from sonically. All members have called Vancouver, B.C. home all their lives. We’ve all been in a variety of local bands over the years but we have finally found the combination that works best. Spring Rooster is a brotherhood of like minded individuals. Call it fast country? Folk tunes on 45? Canadiana on fire? You decide. The bed tracks for all 9 tunes on the debut album were recorded live off the floor at Boutique Empire Studios in East Vancouver. The lead vocals have no effects added. No AI. No click track. Just a lot of practice to get them right ahead of time. Mark Henning, our engineer, has played in many bands including Pure in the 90’s. He’s been recording bands since long before then. We sent it off to Mark Henning’s pal Ryan Dahle (Limblifter/ Mounties etc.) for his final mastering touches. He flips the digital tunes over to a 2 inch track though a Neve board then back to digital. Sounds like the 1970’s all over again.
